The heart of Jesus is expressed in Philippians 2:6-7 "(Jesus) though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking the form of a servant (minister)"
Jesus said about himself, "For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45)
Why did Jesus come to this earth? He came to serve and give. The word "serve" is the same as "minister". The mind of Christ is the mind of a servant. His heart is a servant heart. He was made for ministry. And so are we.
Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Why are we on this earth? We were created for ministry.
Galatians 1:15, "God, in his grace, chose me even before I was born, and called me to serve him." Ephesians 4:1 "I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received."
Not only are we created for ministry but we are called into ministry. Every member of Mercy Chapel is a minister. No exceptions.
During these devotionals this month, we will focus on our S.H.A.P.E. for ministry. The acrostic S.H.A.P.E. stands for 5 things essential to discovering your ministry. Spiritual gifts. Heart. Abilities. Personality. Experiences.
Starting tomorrow we will focus on the first of the five, Spiritual gifts. So this week, let's unwrap your gift.
In His grip of grace,
